At the beginning of the process, before any words are written, producers can apply for upfront funding to option a published novel, short story, play, article or opera written by a Canadian author. The ceiling covers the cost of the option plus $2,500 in expenses. Script Development Program The HG Fund finances four phases of script development for Canadian screenwriters or producers with established track records.
