Short films are a great source. Check out the shorts sections at the Toronto International Film Festival, and other film festivals. Also, don’t miss the Worldwide Short Film Festival, Canadian Film Centre shorts, Directors Guild of Canada’s Kick Start program, and any other short film program you can find. Canadian shorts are also broadcast on television, for instance, on CBC’s Canadian Reflections, Movieola or Showcase. Look for talent coming from film training programs such as:
